FESTIVAL ENTERTAINMENT

HEADLINER DAVID ARCHULETA

David Archuleta rose to prominence in 2008 as the soulful, humble runner-up of American Idol Season 7 at the age of 16. His self-titled debut album followed shortly after, soaring to number two on the Billboard 200 and launching the platinum-selling, signature hit "Crush." In 2021, Archuleta came out as queer, sharing the immense difficulty of reconciling his identity with his religion. His commitment to authenticity led to his eventual departure from the LDS Church, fueling new, vulnerable music, including the 2024 single "Hell Together." Recognized for his advocacy and transformative journey, he received the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Breakthrough Music Artist in 2024. Archuleta continues to embrace this new chapter of freedom, returning to the spotlight as the Macaw on The Masked Singer and preparing for the release of his new memoir, Devout, cementing his status as a voice for self-acceptance and resilience. Cathedral City LGBT+ Days is immensely proud to have him perform as this year’s headliner.
