Join us for the 2020 Cathedral City LGBT Days’ Parade of Beds and Bed Race on Saturday, March 28 starting at 10:30 am in front of City Hall. The Parade of Beds allow you to promote your organization or business for FREE in a fun, slow manner. For those in the need for speed, sign-up now for the LGBT Days’ Bed Race where the winners take home new Schwinn Bikes.
Host Bella da Ball will officiate the morning’s activities that promise a little drama and suspense. Entertainment starts at 10:00 and the Parade of Beds and Bed Race begins at 10:30am. Teams of five are encouraged to sign-up now, decorate a float on wheels, step into some racing shoes or fancy pumps, and race for the coveted winner’s trophy. Everyone wins! Well, not really, but we have a really good time!
Four individuals will push one person sitting on the bed from the rainbow step off on Avenida Lalo Guerrero and end at the finish line in front of City Hall. Fans and spectators will line the street and cheer as the beds race, sashay or simply saunter by to the finish line. Oh, and when we say sashay, we really do mean sashay!
Parade of Beds Competition:
Enjoy the spectacle and parade your entry up and down Avenida Lalo Guerrero during the Parade of Beds. Trophies and cash prizes will be awarded for best decorated entries, Best Theme Bed and Most Spirited Team. Your volunteers can enjoy the fun of a community event and not feel like they need to be Olympians to compete in a race. Have a decorating party. Then on parade day, bring your volunteers and staff and enjoy LGBT Days.
